Helpful stuff as always. I love sharing my Kickstarter post-mortems myself, so it's always great to have something to compare against.

I'm with you on the general feeling of not pushing and marketing work as much as you should. It's a sad truth that if you don't shout it from the rooftops, no one is going to hear it.

Lastly, those extra touches with packaging are always appreciated - even if folks don't provide that feedback.

We'll have to make some mutual goals for next year to improve our promotion skills. I've got a few ideas, but I'll have to get used to the idea of mapping out plans months in advance.

Really interesting break down, James! I really felt that "not feeling my writing is good enough" part. I find that my own doubts about my work make it hard to want to market and promote too. Realistically, I know that seeing the same familiar names over and over on my campaigns ,means that people are enjoying the story and that means something, but those doubts are always gonna creep in for us creatives
