You're Making It Too Easy on Your Protagonist
Action doesn't always indicate challenge.
One of the most common problems I see in the manuscripts I edit is that the hero gets what he wants a little too easily. (Sometimes, a lot too easily.)
You might think, wait, what? Not me. I have all these bad guys, gunfights, and explosions.
Doesn’t matter. I’ve seen plenty of action scenes ruined by heroes succeeding too often.
